International Animal Rights Conference 2018

International Animal Rights Conference 2018

International Animal Rights Conference in Luxembourg

There will be the International Animal Rights Conference from the 6th to 9th September in Luxembourg (the 8th edition of the conference). It is an event for all ages, for the activists or people with an interest for the animal protection.

This event, organised by advocates of animal rights, aims at suggesting real actions on this issue. The actions will be presentations and talks, workshops and documentaries. This year, this International Animal Rights Conference sheds light on speakers coming from countries like in the European Union, the USA, China and Pakistan. They will share their thoughts on questions about the animal welfare regarding the cultural environment where they are living.

It is a hot topic right now with the implement of a Animal Welfare Code last late July by the government of Wallonia (in Belgium). It represents a progress in the political field since this recognition of the animals as “sensitive beings” entitle rights that

comes with restrictive measures. Here are a few examples: the end of experiments on animals by 2023, the ban of rearing of laying hens and fur animals.

Here is a list of several topics discussed in this 8th edition: veganism, raising children’s awareness on animal rights with games and mobile applications, the impact of digital technologies and media on the animal welfare. The presentations will also reveal actions to the public so that everybody can act at their level. They will be various relaxed and festive exhibitions like yoga lessons in the morning, concerts and receptions. In addition of talks and activities, visitors could also discover products and services available on 25 stalls and organised by organisations which are affiliated with the movement.
