From February 27th to March 5th, 2017 is held the Agriculture Show in Paris as every year. Although we do not support animals’ conditions exposed to many visitors but we will address the organic producers to have a better understanding of the organic sector, its values and principles.
With a constantly rising demographic growth, agriculture has to increase its production in order to satisfy the demand. To maximize the production, intensive agriculture outrageously uses fertilizer, pesticides and insecticides. The disastrous consequences are clearly evident: soil pollution, aquatic and air systems, excessive water consumption, development of diseases (cancer, asthma, skin diseases) and ecosystems deterioration.
In order to solve these problems, alternatives means are developing to restore a sound agriculture, environment-friendly and as productive like permaculture.
While the French agency for the development and promotion of organic agriculture notices a historic rise of the offer of products from organic agriculture, according to femininbio, only 20 stands from this sector are on the show out of the 1000 provided. A poor representation in comparison with the growing commitment of Frenchmen for organic product consumption.
7 Frenchmen out of 10 (69%) consumed organic in 2016 while 46% never bought organic in 2003.
82% French consider the development of organic agriculture to be important.
At the end of 2016, the organic market represented 6,9 billion euros.
A rise of +20% on the organic market in 2016 compared to 2015.
